Anthurium crystallinum 'Silver Blush'
Cultivated; species background from tropical Colombia to Ecuador, but cultivar itself has no wild range.
Dark green velvety leaves with broad, bright silver-white veins that can appear to “blush” across the blade.
Compact upright velvet Anthurium cultivar; good cabinet plant but often easier than very fussy species.
Named for its strong silvery venation/blush on dark velvet foliage.
Usually treated in horticulture as a selected Anthurium crystallinum cultivar with especially broad silvery-white venation and somewhat smaller leaves.
Use bright filtered light, 60–80% humidity where possible, and an airy aroid mix. Avoid drying completely or staying soggy.
Use a chunky aroid mix with bark, perlite/pumice, coco chips or coarse fibre, and a moisture-retentive component. Repot gently when roots fill the pot.
Monthly at quarter to half strength during active growth. Flush occasionally if using mineral fertiliser.
- Root rot in dense media; leaf edge burn from low humidity, salts, or inconsistent watering; spider mites, thrips, scale, or mealybug; cold damage in cool indoor conditions.
