Anthurium crystallinum 'Dorayaki'
Cultivated; based on Anthurium crystallinum-type breeding/selection rather than a wild distribution.
Rounded, thick, glossy to velvety dark leaves with broad pale veins; usually more compact and rounder than typical crystallinum.
Compact upright foliage cultivar that can produce neat rosettes of rounded leaves.
Named for dorayaki, a round Japanese filled pancake, because of the rounded leaf shape.
Commonly sold as Anthurium crystallinum “Dorayaki”. Parentage and generation lines can be messy, so cultivar is safer than hybrid unless a specific cross is supplied.
Bright indirect light, warm temperatures, high humidity, and chunky aroid mix. Let the top layer begin to dry before watering again.
Use a chunky aroid mix with bark, perlite/pumice, coco chips or coarse fibre, and a moisture-retentive component. Repot gently when roots fill the pot.
Monthly at quarter to half strength during active growth. Flush occasionally if using mineral fertiliser.
