Origin & Habitat

Panama to Ecuador.

First described by Luis Sodiro. (1901)

Description

Highly corrugated or bullate heart-shaped leaves with a sculptural, puckered surface and pronounced venation.

Compact to medium upright epiphytic Anthurium with textured foliage from a central crown/stem.

Botanical Notes

corrugatum means corrugated or wrinkled.

Accepted Anthurium species according to Colombian Plants/Kew-backed data; POWO also treats Anthurium dictyophyllum as a synonym of Anthurium corrugatum. Grown for corrugated/bullate foliage.

Care Guide

Prefers high humidity, gentle bright light, excellent airflow, and cooler/stable conditions compared with many common houseplant Anthuriums.

Repotting

Repot only when necessary into an airy moisture-retentive mix. Avoid temperature shock and keep the crown clean and ventilated.

Feeding

Monthly at quarter to half strength during active growth. Flush occasionally if using mineral fertiliser.

Common Problems
  • Crisping or collapse in hot dry conditions; fungal spotting if stagnant; root rot in dense media; generally less forgiving than beginner Anthuriums.
